East County, CA–Cal Fire San Diego is at the scene of a 65-acre vegetation fire that broke out Sunday evening in a remote area in east county.
The fire is spreading at a moderate rate of speed along Cottonwood Creek near Little Tecate Peak southeast of Dulzura.
Fire crews described the location as “difficult acres for ground resources with no direct fire engine access.” No structures are threatened at this time, Cal Fire San Diego posted on Twitter.
Although there are no evacuation warnings or orders, about 16 structures are being evaluated for future risk, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
