CA Coastal Rose Society to hold workday at rose garden

CARLBAD–The California Coastal Rose Society will hold a workday for its members from 9-11 a.m. on June 12 at Magee Park Rose Garden, located at the southwest corner of Magee Park, between Beech Ave. and Cypress Ave. along Highway 101 in Carlsbad.

Members will deadhead the roses and provide other maintenance as needed. The public is welcome to get some hands-on experience caring for all types of roses and learn helpful gardening tips. Bring gloves and prunner. Refreshments will be available free of charge for all participants.

The California Coastal Rose Society meets on the third Tuesday of the month at Heritage Hall, 2650 Garfield, Carlsbad which is located in northwest corner of Magee Park. The next meeting will on 15 June at 7 p.m. and feature Dr. Pat Nolan, Plant Pathologist for San Diego County Department of Agriculture who will talk on ‘Diseases and Disorders of Roses’.
