SAN DIEGO–TSAC Engineering president and CEO Karen McPartland has been selected by The Daily Transcript to its Influential Women of San Diego list for 2018.
The San Diego-based firm, headquartered in Rancho Bernardo, is dedicated to providing civil engineering, construction management and land surveying services.
“This is a wonderful honor, but the credit really goes to the entire TSAC Engineering team,” said McPartland. “We’ve been very fortunate to have excellent clients as we have expanded our company from two to 27 employees over the past eight years. It’s because of our team’s dedication to both their work and each other that we continue to grow.”
McPartland, a graduate of San Diego State University, began her professional career with the County of San Diego. That led to valuable industry experience working as a project manager for Rick Engineering. After 13 years there, McPartland formed TSAC Consulting and worked primarily on public works projects as a design sub-consultant. Services were expanded and in 2010 she joined forces with her husband, Steve McPartland, to form TSAC Engineering. Steve serves as senior vice president and principal engineer for the firm, while Jeff Safford is the vice president in charge of land surveying.
Each member of the senior management team has worked in the civil engineering and land surveying industry in San Diego for over 30 years. This deep knowledge of the local environment and requirements of the various jurisdictions has helped the company establish its credibility and effectiveness working on public works and private development projects throughout the county.
McPartland and the TSAC team also value giving back to the community. They actively support Engineers Without Borders (EWB), Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary, Global Friends in Action and other local charitable causes. TSAC Engineering’s true local presence will continue to be a major emphasis when it comes to both work and philanthropy.
