FALLBROOK–Brandon Gallery is seeking artists to submit their art for the 7th annual Small Works Art exhibition: Celebrating the Elements of Art — Mini Size, a juried and open competition slated for October.
Angela Koenig, Brandon’s chair for the event, says Brandon changed to “open” categories for the competition to put more stress on artistic technique.
There is a $20 fee for the first entry and $10 each for the second and third. Art is limited to 14-1/2 inches on either side, which includes the frame.
Juror for the competition is Geri Medway, a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West. Her mastery of the medium is recognized with awards by numerous art festivals and art associations. Medway has authored painting instruction books and taught art workshops in Limoux, France, and Yosemite National Park, among other locales. Her work is held in numerous collections in the U.S. and abroad.
Entry forms are located on the gallery’s web sites www.fallbrookbrandongallery.org and www.brandongalleryfallbrook.com. Artists can pick up forms at Brandon Gallery, 105 N. Main, (one door off Alvarado) in the Village of Fallbrook.
Entries may be delivered to the gallery on CD between September 1 and 15, or in person on September 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. To 3 p.m. The gallery will host a reception and awards ceremony on October 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. Winning and selected art will be on display in the gallery and available for purchase October 1 to 31.
