FALLBROOK–Brandon Gallery announced that Elizabeth Taft, an award winning portrait artist, will hold a special showing in its Etcetera Gallery during February.
Proficient in oil and acrylics, Taft entitles her Feb. 1-28 exhibition: “About the Face” in which she displays portraits and portrait styles that reflect her “love of the beauty around her and in others”. She says, “Ever since childhood I have been drawing pictures of people to tell their stories. Each face has a story to tell and my job is to capture it with the most integrity that I can; and when I do, their stories become a small part of my own.”
A professional artist for 25 years, she has won numerous honors and accolades in local and international competitions. In addition to a busy schedule of gallery showings and competitions, Taft conducts workshops and is an active member of the California Art Club, Laguna Plein Aire Association, Oil Painters of America, the San Diego Watercolor Society, San Diego Portrait Association and the Portrait Society of America. Taft has a Bachelor of Arts degree in fine art from San Diego State University, pursued post graduate studies at University of California San Diego and studied art in Greece and Italy.
