CARLSBAD–An unknown male called 911 and reported a bomb threat at the J.C. Penney store in the Westfield Carlsbad Mall, a Carlsbad police spokesman said Wednesday.
At 8:20 p.m., Carlsbad police received notification from Oceanside police of a bomb threat at the mall. Carlsbad officers and Carlsbad fire crews responded to the scene and evacuated all occupants of the store. Officers searched J.C. Penney and did not locate any suspicious items.
The identity of the suspect is unknown. The investigation into the identity of the suspect is ongoing.
