Lakeside, CA–A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after Sheriff’s deputies found a body inside a trailer in Lakeside.
On December 18, just after 3 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to a large property in the 12100 block of State Highway 67 in Lakeside for a report of a burglary. Deputies were directed to a house trailer on the property. The trailer had a vehicle parked next to it that was determined to be stolen.
Deputies ordered the occupants of the trailer to exit. Ramon Sandoval, 30, exited the trailer and was detained. Deputies entered the trailer and found a deceased person inside.
Sandoval was arrested and booked into the San Diego Central Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and violation of probation.
The Medical Examiner’s Office conducted the autopsy and has identified the victim. The preliminary cause of death is pending further evaluation.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification. The Medical Examiner’s Office and authorities are working to find the victim’s family.
Sandoval will be additionally charged with one count of murder. He has remained in custody since his initial arrest.
