SAN DIEGO–San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego Police Department’s Western Division are asking for assistance from the public to help identify and locate unknown suspects wanted for a bronze sign theft series.
Detectives said between June 25 and August 1, a total of eight separate cases involving the theft of bronze signs have occurred in the Old Town, Mission Hills, and Burlingame communities. Six were “Historical Landmark” signs taken from the front of Burlingame and Mission Hills homes, four were “Inspiration Heights” signs taken from Mission Hills, and one was a “Private Road” sign taken from Old Town. The signs are very distinct and valued from $400-$1200.
The suspect is described as adult male (unknown race), between 25-45 years old, medium build. He was seen carrying two large light colored garbage bags getting into a dark colored sedan. The sedan was driven by another unknown suspect.
