Escondido, CA–The Sheriff’s Department and San Diego County Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man and a woman in connection with a carjacking incident on June 12 in unincorporated Escondido.

The carjacking occurred just before 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Old Highway 395 and Circle R Way. The victim told deputies he was driving when he noticed a woman on a bicycle on the side of the road who appeared to be in distress. When he pulled over to check on the woman, a black Honda hatchback pulled up behind him. A man got out of the Honda, approached the victim, and pulled out a gun on him. The suspect told him to give him his wallet and money. The victim told the suspect he didn’t have any money, but he could take his car. The male suspect got into the victim’s car and drove away. The woman got into the male suspect’s Honda and drove away, the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
