ENCINITAS–Authorities are asking the public for their assistance in identifying a woman who tried to use stolen credit cards to purchase a luxury watch at a North County jewelry store.

Sheriff’s deputies say a women’s purse was stolen on February 17 at a Home Goods in the 200 block of North El Camino Real in Encinitas. The victim left her purse unattended for a few seconds in her shopping cart. When she returned her purse was gone.

Later that day, a woman tried to use one of the credit cards inside the stolen purse to buy a $4,000 watch at the Ben Bridge store located at the Westfield UTC mall in University City. The transaction was declined because the victim had already cancelled her credit cards.

Anyone with information on the female suspect can call Detective Bruton at (760) 966‐3500, or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580‐8477.
