LEMON GROVE—Three armed robbery suspects were arrested Wednesday after they led Sheriff’s deputies, San Diego and La Mesa police and California Highway Patrol officers on a short vehicle pursuit from Lemon Grove to La Mesa. Two victims were robbed at gun point of their cell phone and a watch at 9902 Jamacha Blvd. in Spring Valley. The victims reported that the suspects had a shotgun and a handgun, Lemon Grove deputies say. Deputies spotted the suspects in an older model, white, Thunderbird vehicle. When deputies attempted to contact the suspects a short vehicle pursuit ensued. A shotgun was thrown from the vehicle but was later recovered. Deputies lost sight of the vehicle in the area of Spring Street near the 94 Highway. With the assistance of citizens and a ASTREA helicopter and ABLE, officers located the vehicle at Fresno Ave./Palm Ave in La Mesa. A continued search of the area ended up with three suspects in custody, a recovered shotgun and the suspect’s vehicle.
