ALPINE–Animal sanctuary Lions Tigers and Bears will host a open house for members of the public to visit the sanctuary and meet their newest rescue, a 4-month old tiger cub.
The cub was brought to the big cat, bear and exotic animal rescue sanctuary on September 5 after it was brought to the Ramona Humane Society in San Jacinto County by an anonymous woman.
The woman claimed to have found him roaming her Hemet neighborhood.
California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife asked Bobbi Brink, founder and director of Lions Tigers and Bears, if she would provide refuge to the cub at her accredited exotic animal sanctuary in Alpine while an investigation is conducted regarding the cub.
Upon arrival, the cub underwent a baseline examination, and since has had several other check-ups by the veterinary team.
The sanctuary is asking members of the public to vote on a name for the four month old , 49-pound cub. Name submissions were accepted through the sanctuary’s website in early October. The poll will open October 18 and closes on October 23 at 11:59 p.m. To vote visit, www.LionsTigersAndBears.org
The cub’s name will be revealed at the Open House on Saturday, October 24th, which runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Tickets are $25 for members, $30 for non-members and $15 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the door. All proceeds benefit the rescued animals of LTB.
Brink states “I look forward to sharing the day with our members and guests at the sanctuary to honor this cub. He has been through so much, and we are just happy to be able to provide him with a lifetime home at the sanctuary.”
Sanctuary officials are requesting the public’s support to help cover the costs to provide lifetime care to their more than 60 rescued animals.
