San Diego, CA–Effective February 18, Allegiant Air will operate from Terminal 2 East at San Diego International Airport.

Allegiant’s ticket counter will be located at the west end of the American Airlines ticket counter and the airline will operate from gate 33 post-security. Effective February 24, JetBlue Airways will operate from Terminal 2 West at the airport. JetBlue Airways’ ticket counter will be located at the east end of the Delta Air Lines ticket counter and the airline will operate from gate 34 post-security.

The relocation is to make space available as construction continues for the new Terminal 1 project which includes the replacement of the outdated terminal, improvements to the airfield, improved transportation connectivity to the airport, and a new facility for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority administration.

Construction on the new terminal commenced on November 1, 2021. Additional passenger impacts currently include the relocation of the Cell Phone Lot to the parking lot on McCain Road and the closure of some of the parking spots available in the Terminal 1 parking lot.

The Airport Authority plans to inform passengers and the community about progress and plans for the new terminal.
