DEL MAR–Confirmed sightings of juvenile white sharks in the ocean has prompt lifeguards to post advisory signs Tuesday at a Del Mar beach.

The California Marine Safety Chiefs Association and Del Mar lifeguards posted the advisory signs to alert the public of sharks.

Lifeguards spotted a young shark Monday off of 29th Street and again on Tuesday at 15th Street. Neither shark approached the shore or demonstrated aggressive behavior. Shark experts told lifeguards there is no cause for concern.

The sightings are among others reported recently by lifeguards from neighboring cities.

Lifeguards in Del Mar will continue to monitor the situation and work with the Shark Lab, California Marine Safety Chiefs Association and neighboring lifeguard departments.
