ACE Named 2015 Healthiest Company To Work For In San Diego

July 31, 2015 By sdcnews

SAN DIEGO–As a long-time promoter of health and fitness, the American Council on Exercise ( ACE) empowers people to live their most fit lives.

Coinciding with its 30th anniversary and reinforced commitment to ending the nation’s obesity epidemic, ACE has been recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as San Diego’s Healthiest Company to Work For in 2015 in the healthcare, insurance and wellness service provider category. The award spotlights ACE’s notable efforts around its employee health and wellness program, ACE Wellness @ Work.

Further, ACE was named a finalist for this year’s Best Companies to Work For, also awarded by the San Diego Business Journal.

“It’s an honor to be recognized as a healthiest company to work for in San Diego,” said ACE President and CEO Scott Goudeseune. “Our health and wellness program is an important investment for us, and we continually strive to ensure that our employees work in a culture that honors our mission, allowing them to be active and make healthy lifestyle choices.”

ACE Wellness @ Work includes an offering of ergonomic and active work stations (i.e., adjustable standing desks), an on-site gym, daily fitness classes, recess breaks, and a variety of incentive programs that encourage long-term health and wellbeing. ACE Wellness @ Work, which is led by a group of employees, hosts quarterly challenges to engage all ACE personnel and build cohesive bonds through physical wellness. Additionally, ACE gives back to the San Diego community through initiatives such as food drives and cleanup programs.

More than 75 finalists were nominated in San Diego’s Healthiest Companies awards program this year. Each company was judged on its ability to make employee wellness a priority, a strong desire to create a company culture of wellbeing, organizational leadership and support for company wellness initiatives, and measurement and return on investment.

The awards program is designed specifically to highlight employers who not only set a high standard, but raised the bar for providing safe, healthy, and productive work environments.
