ESCONDIDO–This year the Center will offer their annual Center Stage: Performances for Youth program, providing an affordable and engaging introduction into the world of live theatre for hundreds of schoolchildren. For only $2.50 per performance, children can see a variety of quality shows featuring music, dance and theater, all performed on a professional stage.
This year’s line up offers teachers, homeschoolers, students and parents several weekday performances that connect students to a variety of curricula in history, literature, and music. For each class reservation, a standards-based free Educators’ Guide is provided, with pre- and post-show activities, historical content, and other resources to explore.
This season the series will open with Ferdinand the Bull on October 5 at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Based on the beloved children’s book, this heartwarming story teaches kids to celebrate each other’s differences. This production for grades K-8 integrates Spanish, flamenco dancing and original music to create a fun and memorable experience that is perfect for young audiences.
Center Stage series is sponsored by McBeth Foundation, Dr. David & Mrs. Lynn Tagge and San Diego Gas & Electric A Sempra Energy Utility.
