SAN DIEGO—The San Diego Sheriff’s Court Services Bureau conducted a warrant sweep in the cities of Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, La Mesa and El Cajon on June 1.
The focus of the operation was on the apprehension of suspects who currently have outstanding misdemeanor and felony driving under the influence (DUI) or domestic violence warrants.
During the sweep a total of 20 adults were arrested for their outstanding warrants. A total of 27 warrants were cleared as a result.
The warrant sweep was funded by the Sheriff’s Warrant System Automation Trust Fund. The trust fund is made up of assessment fees collected from defendants who have violated a written promise to appear in court or otherwise failed to comply with the conditions of their court orders.
