RAMONA–About 150 firefighters are on the ground and in the air battling a vegetation fire that started early Friday morning in Ramona.
The blaze broke out at around 9:30 a.m. on Sawday Truck Trail and Littlepage Road in east Ramona, according to Cal Fire San Diego.
The Sawday fire near Witch Creek is currently 97 acres and 15% contained, according to authorities on the ground.
Old Julian Highway is closed between Highway 78 and Vista Ramona.
An evacuation order has been issued for Sawday Truck Trail, Littlepage Road, Littlepage Lane, Old Julian Highway, Creek Hollow Drive and Creek Hollow Road.
A temporary evacuation center has been set up at the Ramona Rodeo Grounds, located at 421 Aqua Lane, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
No reports of injuries are structural damages.
